Previewed in 2011 and presented at SIHH 2012, PAM 422 is the Luminor Marina (small seconds) version of the PAM 372. The P.3001 movement here is the same as P.3000, save the small running seconds at the 9 o'clock .
Either watch is a great thing on the wrist. If I had 1 Pam, I would lean towards the 422 as the sapphire is better for daily use and the seconds function is convenient. If it was a second pam, 372 just because it feels more iconic. I went with the 422. I wanted the subdial and the PR indicator was a great addition.
While the lugs are thinner on the 372, maybe the brushed finish helps reduce the case thickness perception or that the domed crystal gives the 127 a more tapered look. While I prefer the font on the 390 to the 372, pretty much everything else of the 372 is better. Since you have an 005 for daily wear (love the 005, btw), I say make the trade. 005 and 372 is a pretty sweet Luminor duo. Good luck with the choice! get the 372. save the 390.
