My 233 is my favorite PAM reference, but while setting the date this past March the movement actually failed on me (the whole thing locked up) necessitating a full service. Panerai did the full service, a light polish and replaced the main plate and handset at a cost of about 00 . the 233 is the most versatile Panerai ever! You can dress up or down pending . Since I have made peace with my thoughts on Panerai I am back into collecting .
Manual winding is more "true" to Panerai DNA, and would be a little more .

You can dress up or down pending which strap you put on and the 233 matches so many so well. Have you ever looked at Martin W old watch blog on "20 straps with the 233" ? Since I have made peace with my thoughts on Panerai I am back into collecting and enjoying the watches and the strap game. I picked up a 233 Dot and the 317 which has a similar case and domed crystal and they are currently my most worn watches. Manual winding is more "true" to Panerai DNA, and would be a little more resilient to shocks on the wrist p.s. these are my own personal opinions, and reasons for choosing the PAM233 over the PAM321. I paid a topup of approx 00USD but I think it was well worth it!
